World Health Organization employee abducted in northern Mali

A World Health Organization employee was abducted by unidentified associates in northern Mali, the UN agency’s director-general said Tuesday.

Dr. Mahamadou Diawara was kidnapped from his car in the town of Menaka on Monday, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news conference.

“Health workers should never be a target,” Tedros said.

Michigan woman, 2 kids died of hypothermia in the field, the sheriff says

A Michigan woman going through a mental health crisis and her two sons were found dead over the weekend after taking refuge in a Detroit-area park.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard identified the victims as 35-year-old Monica Cannady, 9-year-old Kyle Milton, and 3-year-old Malik Milton, Fox Detroit reported.
