The contract includes supplying 19 LNG cargoes, or up to roughly 0.5 million tonnes of LNG every year over a interval of three years plus one quarter. The supply will come from Santos’ global portfolio of world-class LNG assets on a delivered ex-ship basis. Santos Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Gallagher noted that the contract with Glencore extends their current sturdy business relationship and presents a useful alternative for both companies to leverage their expertise in Asian LNG markets. “This oil-indexed contract, together with a long-term LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement with Hokkaido Gas in Japan, highlights Santos’ robust Business News LNG portfolio position and buyer relationships within the region. There continues to be strong demand in Asia for top heating value LNG from tasks such as Barossa and PNG LNG. Santos is dedicated to supporting the power safety of our valued customers across Asia,” Mr Gallagher said. The Bank of Papua New Guinea officially launched the Kina and Toea Exhibition, a display celebrating the nation’s rich economic history and the fiftieth anniversary of Papua New Guinea’s forex.
